On Saturday, the club begins the 2018 season with an intriguing clash with newly promoted senior side, Southern Lions. Ian Fowler has of course taken the reins once more and training has been going very well.
The trial matches have gone more or less to plan and our premier grade is all set to make an assault upon the championship, but the truth is, Southern Lions are somewhat of an unknown quantity. They have had a couple of trial matches against Kalamunda and Wanneroo and have given a good account of themselves but our boys should be rightly confident of going there and taking the victory.
The new competition structure forces all clubs to begin the season well so as to make the cut for the championship proper. The lads are aware that it is imperative they put in a massive shift. The Ressies and the Thirsty Thirds are in the same boat, so if you can make it down to 359 Hammond Road in Success and support the teams as they initiate their season. If you intend to support our Fourth Grade (44L), they begin their season at Edinburgh Oval against Curtin University!
